NED · CHROME PILOT
Your thinking companion, in Chrome.
The meeting companion runs on Ned’s AWS account. You don’t need Docker, Python, an API key, or a second Ned account.
Add Ned to Chrome
- Open the private pilot release and download ned-3.2.0.zip. GitHub repository access is required.
- Extract it into a folder you’ll keep.
- Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, and select Load unpacked.
- Select the extracted ned-3.2.0 folder containing manifest.json.
- Pin Ned from Chrome’s extensions menu and open it.
Try the writing tools
Write, glossary, paragraph map, purpose review, and private writing patterns work on your device. The writing journal is off until you enable it.
Connect your meetings
Choose Meetings → Connect Ned, allow access to the hosted service, and use your existing Ned sign-in.
Google sign-in needs the pilot callback registered on Ned’s existing Google OAuth client. If Google reports “redirect_uri_mismatch,” that administrator step is still outstanding. A different app’s Google client does not replace your Ned account connection.
Existing Ned history, calendar, reports, chat, and invitations use your existing account permissions. Experimental cloud analysis and a separate pilot recording bot are not configured on this host. Live transcript viewing is planned and is not included in this release.
Already have an older Ned extension?
Export any writing journal you want to keep before disabling the older extension. This pilot has a stable new extension identity; older local data does not move automatically.
